You’re Invited: Iceland with B

I haven’t left the country since April 2024 (gasp, 3 whole months!), and a few weeks ago, I started to feel a little stir crazy. To remedy my restlessness, I booked myself a 3 day trip to Iceland for Labor Day weekend. While you might not be able to make the trip at the same time as me, I’d be overjoyed to plan your vacation and help you follow my personal itinerary (and more!). For anyone interested, below is all I have planned for my quick trip to the land of ice and fire.

Where I’m Staying

While I would love to road trip around the island in a van, my first visit to Iceland will be to solely explore Reykjavik and the surrounding areas. Home base will be at Hótel Eyja Guldsmeden, a family-owned boutique hotel that focuses on upholding sustainable practices to protect their beautiful land.

  • Fresh seafood and sushi with an Icelandic twist. The tasting menu here is excellent if you want to sample a variety of dishes.

Where to Drink

  • A legendary spot in Reykjavik, it’s a cozy bar with a relaxed atmosphere during the early evening and a lively, music-filled environment later at night.

Exursions

There is no way I’ll have time to fit in all of my Iceland bucket list. So, I'll share with you what I have booked and excursions that I’m saving for the future!

Sky Lagoon

Up first, a trip to the Sky Lagoon, a geothermal spa situated just a short drive from Reykjavik. The lagoon features a large, naturally heated pool with stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including the ocean and distant mountains.

One of the highlights of the Sky Lagoon is its 7-step ritual, which combines the benefits of hot and cold experiences, including a steam room, a cold plunge pool, and a sauna. This ritual is designed to enhance relaxation and rejuvenation. The lagoon also has a swim-up bar, where you can enjoy drinks while soaking in the warm waters.

Silfra Snorkeling Tour

The Silfra Snorkeling Tour is a popular adventure in Iceland that offers the unique experience of snorkeling in the Silfra fissure, a crystal-clear underwater rift located in Thingvellir National Park. This rift is situated between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, making it one of the few places in the world where you can swim between two continents.

Icelandic Horseback Riding Tour

Due to my life-long obsession with horses, I couldn’t leave Iceland without booking this tour. An Icelandic Horseback Riding Tour is an exciting way to experience Iceland's stunning landscapes from a unique perspective. Icelandic horses are renowned for their special gait, called the "tölt," which is smooth and comfortable, making them ideal for riding across various terrains.

Other Excursions to Consider

Stay tuned

As I eagerly anticipate my trip to Iceland, I’m daydreaming of experiences that lie ahead. From sampling Icelandic cuisine and sipping on wine to curling up with a book against a backdrop of stunning landscapes, this adventure promises to be rejuvenating for my soul. I can’t wait to share these unforgettable moments with you. Stay tuned for reviews!

With Love,

B
